As you have seen by our previous posts, Nepal has number of adventure sports to enjoy. Elephant polo is one of the more rare adventures, and the is only one of its kind in Nepal. The World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) organizes an annual Elephant polo tournament in the airfield of Meghauli Chitwan, southwest of Kathmandu, and north of the Indian border.
The World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) was established in 1982, and has its headquarter at the Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge in Chitwan, Nepal. WEPA has also established the governing rules for the Elephant Polo Tournament.
Elephant polo is similar to regular polo (with a horse), but you can easily the big difference. A fast (at times), and exciting game, it is much like polo but with elephants and longer sticks. This is quite possibly the biggest sport in the world.
The game is played by four players of each team on a marked pitch 140 x 70 meters, using a standard size polo ball and consists of two 10-minute chukkers of playing time, with an interval of 15 minutes. The whistle blown by the referee stops and starts play. The pitch is marked with a center line, a circle with a radius of 15 meters in the center of the field, and a semi-circle with a radius of 30 meters measured from the centre of the goal line at either end of the pitch. Elephants and ends are changed at half time.
Teams participate from all over the world including Scotland, Thailand, England and Hong Kong. The local favorites, the Tiger Tops Tuskers, also take a part. After the day's play, all the players and guests have dinner in the Golghar, a traditional round house with a great bar.
Elephant Polo in Nepal runs from the last week of November through the first week of December.

Paragliding in Pokhara, Nepal
Paragliding is a relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and little information is available in tourist guidebooks. Paragliding in this Himalayan country can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure-seekers. You can experience unparalleled scenic grandeur as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites, while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayas.
The last three years have seen the activity flourish in Pokhara, and it now is an internationally recognized destination for free-flight enthusiasts.
BEST TIME TO FLY
Gliding is a weather dependent sport and the flying season in Nepal commences from November through February, the best months being November and December. By virtue of its latitude and monsoonal climate, the tree line in Nepal is at an incredible 3,900 m above sea level. With conditions milder than summer alpine, these are excellent and constant atmospherics.
The topography and climate of Nepal also make it an ideal destination for all levels of pilots- subtropical conditions provide plenty of thermals and combined with the long valleys common in Nepal, they produce perfect 'cloud streets' ideal for Para gliders, inviting them to fly along this "sky highway". The local micro-climate, controlled by the numerous lakes in the valley, is unique, which makes it even better for the glider.
The 98/99 season saw 88 out of 90 days flyable, while the 99/00 season went one better, when we were in the air 89 days out of 90. Since then we have consistently seen 95% or more of the season with great gliding conditions. It would be hard to find anywhere else with such friendly and constant conditions.
The best months for flying are November, December and January. The cloud base varies between 2000 m and 2700 m. Come February, the extremely short and hardly noticeable winter is over, the ground is very dry, and the air gets hazy. Gone are the mild conditions of the previous 3 months. By March and April there is a mountain wind, coming off the big peaks and some days causes strong valley winds. Indeed you can windsurf in April on Phewa Taal, the biggest lake in the Pokhara valley. The heavy air is just waiting for the monsoon and the intermittent storms in April and May are only a forerunner for the spectacular break in the weather come early June.
WHERE DO WE FLY
The main area for flying in Nepal is the Annapurna region, more specifically the Pokhara valley. This lakeside town is Nepal's second "city", nestled at the foot of the Annapurna Himal, the views commanded from here, of 3 of the worlds 8000 m peaks, are unsurpassed. At an altitude of 800 m ASL the subtropical climate means that, year round, it is short and T-shirt weather. The micro-climate of the valley makes it an ideal area for flying, with far more constant conditions than the Kathmandu valley 150 km east.
There are several sites around Phew Taal (the lake) but the most accessible is Sarangkot (1500m ASL). A view point 700 m above Pokhara, it is unique in that it has a road running to the top. A short walk brings you to the only purpose built take off in the country. Cut out of the slope is a 45m by 45m clearing. With regular cycles providing easy reverse launches, you could not ask for a more picturesque site. With the lake 2000 ft below, the mountains behind, and the unlimited potential for XC and out and returns, this has quickly become the main site for the area, and many pilots have based themselves in Pokhara for the season, flying from this mountain alone.
There are an abundance of other sites around the valley but all need to be walked up. With names such as Dikie Danda, Devi Falls, Poomdi and Matepani, all can be connected by air from Sarangkot.
Different types of flying deals:
There are various deals for the paragliding enthusiast as well as those checking this sport out for the first time. There is a three-day introductory course for beginners, as well as tandem flights (where you fly with an instructor) for the inexperienced or less brave. At 6000 ft, you sit back in your seat as your qualified pilot takes you on an unforgettable journey. The take-off point for these flights is Sarankot (1592 m), which offers prime views of Phewa Taal and the mountains at sunrise and sunset (provided the skies are clear); the landing site is by the lake.

Rock Climbing in Nepal
If you want a cliff hanger experience in Nepal, the Kathmandu valley perimeter offers some hair-raising spots. There are some terrific, dizzying places for those who get their kicks from crawling up vertical cliffs. If you are not making it to some of the kingdom's high peaks, here's another opportunity to get a high. Of late, rock climbing has found increasing popularity among the tourists coming into Nepal as well as for local enthusiasts, Trekking agencies too have jumped into the bandwagon and some of them now offer the rock climbing experience.
Most of the spots are situated to the north and northwest of the valley, in the vicinity of the Nagarjuna forest and the Shiva puri watershed and wildlife reserve. Your rock climbing trip can therefore be combined with bird watching, game watching and experiencing some of the last of the valley's wilds. Nagarjuna is a verdant hill located to the northwest of the Swayambhu Stupa and believed to be the place where the famous Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna meditated.
The cliff here is located inside the Nagarjuna forest reserve suitable for both beginners and wall rats. The limestone rock face is about 12-15 m high and bears the remnants of earlier climbs. what purists would describe as "piton scarred," or a defaced face. You could always do a free climb if experienced enough, or use the friendlier chocks.

Bungee-Jumping in Nepal
Bungee-jumping is an activity in which a person jumps off of a high place (generally several hundred feet/meters) with one end of an elastic cord attached to his/her body or ankles, and the other end tied to the jumping-off point. When the person jumps, the cord will stretch to take up the energy of the fall, then the jumper will fly upwards as the cord snaps back. The jumper oscillates up and down until the initial energy of the jump is dissipated.
Ultimate Bungee offers a 500-foot jump over a tropical gorge in the Himalayas of Nepal along the Tibetan border. The Bhote Koshi, one of Nepal's wildest rivers, rages below the steel suspension bridge that was specially designed for bungee-jumping. The Swiss design can hold up to 4.5 tons of weight and is 545 feet wide, so there's no need to worry about your safety (at least not before jumping...) On top of it all, the dense jungle and pristine forest surrounding the cliff-top gorge offer a spectacular view, which many consider to be one of the most beautiful in the world.
Bungee-Jumping
If you thought bungee-jumping was restricted to some places in Europe, New Zealand and America, it's time you got and update. The sport has finally found a natural home in the highest mountain range in the world. The ultimate thrill of a bungee jump can now be experienced in Nepal at perhaps the best site in the world.
Your jump can be arranged upon arrival in Kathmandu. As of now, there is only one agency offering this sport. The jump, at 160 m, was designed by one of New Zealand's leading bungee consultants, and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business. It's mishap-proof. The agency takes safety "very, very seriously."
Location:
Less than 3 hours outside Kathmandu by Ultimate Bungee Shuttle. You will travel the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa) Highway to within 12km of the Tibet Border and the famous Friendship Bridge.
The Gorge:
Ultimate bungee Nepal takes place on a 166m wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhoti Kosi River.
The Bridge:
Swiss designed, especially for bungee-jumping, with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading factor of 250 kg per running meter. This means that the bridge will hold 250 x 166 = 41,500kg (41.5 tonnes), or 45 tons (and those are Swiss measurements!)
* Over 6000 meters of steel wire was used to build the bridge
* Longest suspension bridge in Nepal
* The bridge joins two sides of a great valley. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge.
Anyone who wants to take a taste of bungee-jumping should not have any of the health problems mentioned below:
* Heart disease
* Epilepsy
* High blood pressure
* Pregnancy
* Addiction to alcohol or drugs
* Orthopedic problems
* Psychological problems
* Neurological problems

On top of it all, the dense jungle and pristine forest surrounding the cliff-top gorge offer a spectacular view, which many consider to be one of the most beautiful in the world.
* Heart disease
* Epilepsy
* High blood pressure
* Pregnancy
* Addiction to alcohol or drugs
* Orthopedic problems
* Psychological problems
* Neurological problems

Recreational Fishing with First Environmental Trekking
Fishing for sport is one of the many adventurous activities that has
been offered by our company for years. Nepal has a dense network of rivers and
streams, as well as numerous cold water lakes. Nepal is a landlocked country,
where snow-clad Himalayas, eternal glaciers, ice-cold torrents, clear water,
and lakes contribute to much of its hydrosphere. These vast stretches of inland
water support a wide variety of freshwater life, including fish. Many wild and
scenic rivers and lakes of Nepal provide opportunities for recreational
fishing.
Nowhere else in the Himalayan region could one find hundreds of
kilometers of beautiful, cool, crystal-clear fishing waters, teeming with
mahseer, snow trout, fresh water eel, and catfishes as in the upper reaches of
the rivers Gandaki, Koshi, and Karnali of Nepal. Angling in such beautiful
waters amidst glorious scenery is a diverse, subtle, and beguiling spectacle.
The dancing and frolicking of fish in the Himalayan rivers are worth checking
out.
The fishing can be done throughout the year. Still, the best season to
go fishing on the white waters is before and after the monsoon rains: February
until April, and then October and November. Some popular fishing areas are
Karnali, Betrawati, Indrawati, Babai (Bardiya), Chitwan's river confluences,
Dolalghat, on Kodari Highway, and Pokhara's lakes. Fishing is all the more fun
in mountain streams. In the Terai river water large catfish, mural, and carp
are found in abundance. There are some specific ethnic group in the hills and Terai
region of Nepal whose lifestyle has been based on fishing. Bote, Majhi, Tharu
and Machhuwar are some of them.
Special Fishing Tour Programs with First Environmental Trekking
a) Fishing in Budi Gandaki (5 days)
Half way between Kathmandu and Pokhara, Budhi Gandaki is a mystery
river! Like the Marsyangdi, the Budhi Gandaki rises wholly in Nepal, and drains
the Eastern slopes of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal, before flowing south through a
steep valley to join the Trisuli River upstream of Mugling.
Fishing here will certainly provide you a unique experience. As you
fish, you can observe typical Nepali villages, good mountain views, and a
little-traveled, but easy river. The different varieties of fish can be seen
frolicking in the water. The journey starts from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar,
and the desire to catch fish will take you to Arket Bazaar. The fishing area
includes several places of Arket Bazaar, Seuli Bazaar, and Arughat Bazaar.
Forgetting the rest of the world you can relax and enjoy fishing here. This
place is really wonderful, with crystal clear waters, and you can go to by boat
to the blue waters, as there is an opportunity to hook up the varieties of
fishes such as mahseer, snow trout, fresh water eel, and catfishes. The high
currents of the water make this adventure a memorable and challenging one. And
the fish you catch here are really delicious if it is cooked. In addition to
this, you can experience various cultural and traditional ethos of this small
but diverse country.
After your unspoken interaction with these beautiful fish and fauna,
you retrace your route to Arughat Bazaar, and from there, a picturesque drive
brings you back to Kathmandu.
b) Fishing in Ankhu Khola (Netrawati) (5 days)
Ankhu Khola is yet another excellent destination for the subtle sport
of fishing. It lies north in the Ganesh Himal region. You drive from Kathmandu
to Khahare Bazaar which takes about six hours.
The main places where you can enjoy the fun of fishing include
anywhere from Khahare Bazaar up to Kintang Phei. Another option is from Khahare
to Tari Besi. This program has been designed to take anglers, both amateurs and
professionals, on an exciting fishing trip. While on this exciting fishing
trip, you also enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding forests, streams,
and high mountains.
Here too, you find an opportunity to hook up a variety of fishes, such
as mahseer, snow trout, fresh water eel, and catfishes.
The main attractions of this program are to make you feel relaxed away
from the hubbub of the city, and help you observe the rural part of Nepal. Here
you can enjoy boating, swimming in crystal-clear blue water, lying on sand
beaches, camping, experiencing the local culture, interacting with the local
people as you choose, home stay, fresh and tasty fruits, vegetables, fish, and
beautiful scenery.

A little about Ecotourism
It's time to take a small break from our itineraries, and discuss what makes our company the right choice. Choosing a trekking company is not just about helping you have the best possible holiday or trek (although that is a major priority!) The right trekking company is also one that helps the environment. By picking us, you will be doubly satisfied in knowing that your amazing adventure is actually helping to make the world around you a better place!
First Environmental Trekking has always remained very conscious about the preservation of the environment. We focus on local cultures, wilderness adventures, volunteering, personal growth, and learning about ways to coexist with nature without leaving an imprint. Our company believes in traveling to destinations where the flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. We practice responsible ecotourism, which includes programs that minimize the adverse effects of traditional tourism on the natural environment, and that enhance the cultural integrity of local people. Therefore, in addition to evaluating environmental and cultural factors, our objectives include the promotion of recycling, energy efficiency, water re-use, and the creation of economic opportunities for local communities.
Our goal is to enable people to learn about and enjoy the natural, historical, and cultural characteristics of unique environments while preserving the integrity of those sites, and stimulating the economic development local communities. We always attempt to effectively promote the preservation of entire local ecosystems, not just individual species, vistas, or sites.
In numerous places, trekking groups have left littered trails and degraded forests in their wake. Against this alarming backdrop, the practice of ecologically friendly tourism has been gaining momentum, both in Nepal and around the world. Our approach to tourism seeks not only to preserve the environment and culture of a tourist destination, but also to benefit the local population. By fostering environmental awareness, among both locals and visitors, and by linking tourism to social and economic development, it is possible to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of an area through the promotion of sustainable tourism. This not only enhances the positive experience of those on a holiday, it also helps to increase the standard of living of the local residents. So much has been said about environmentally friendly tourism, and no doubt, a lot more will be in the future. We can proudly say, without hesitation, that we have led the way in responsible tours in our Kingdom.
Our slogan is: “Where there is greenery, there is peace and happiness.” In this regard, we strongly condemn deforestation, and organize plantation projects from time to time. All the guides and porters working in this company have been provided training about the hazards faced by the environment. They have learned and adopted practices for the protection of the environment through training and workshops about environmental degradation, and take specific measures to prevent the negative side effects of normal tourism. We also support programs that provide awareness to the local community about sanitation, hazards of deforestation, preservation of ecosystems, how to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and so on. The profit our company earns by selling tour and trekking packages to the guests is shared and invested in the above mentioned activities for the benefit of local livelihood, woman’s empowerment, and of course environmental conservation.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information regarding the environmentally friendly projects we support and practice. We love to spread knowledge that will help keep our world beautiful, happy, and healthy! And, of course, we would love to show you around the exquisite land that we proudly call home.

Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve Tour
This wildlife reserve is situated in the extreme south-west of Nepal. The name of the park is derived from the largest of these grasslands, which is known as Suklaphanta (also spelled Sukla Phanta.) The park area is 155 sq km, and would be 305 sq km after the completion of its extension. Suklaphanta's grassland is one of the last remaining habitats for such threatened animals as the hispid hare and the pygmy hog. Besides these, Suklaphanta is the stronghold for another endangered animal, the barasingha, or swamp deer.
Other wildlife of the park included spotted deer, also seen in large numbers, hog deer, nilgai, wild dog, jackal, porcupine and otter. The park and the adjoining forest is the territory of small number of tigers, which because of open terrain, are not uncommon to sight on the prowl. Wild elephants have also been sighted in the park.
A stop at the Rani Tal would be an exciting experience. This small lake attracts birds and animals alike. Herons, ducks, storks, kingfishers and egrets vie for food, and swamp deer wallow at the edges. From a nearby machan, one can watch while thousands of water fowl mingle on the lake surface, and it is not uncommon to see hundreds of swamp deer grazing at the water's edge in the evening light. The experience is unique.
Other ways to view wildlife in the park is by driving in land rovers near the lake and river and on nature walks with trained trackers.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Tour (4 to 14 days)
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve first Gazettes back in 1976 was mainly established to protect the rare, wild water buffaloes. The area of the reserve extends 175 sq. km to the north of a one kilometer long barrage that spans the Koshi river. The vast expanse of water created by the barrage, marshes, lagoons, mudflats, and arable land that lie around it offers an outstanding wetland, which has created one of the best and finest bird watching sanctuaries in Asia.
One of the most rewarding and greatest assets of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Park is that it offers ample places for nature walks. For those with curiosity and perseverance, walking within the reserve on foot is the most profitable way of exploring the grassland, river lagoons, and woodlands, and the vicinity of the barrage is just a short drive away. The best time to visit this fabulous wildlife reserve is from October through March, when many of the migratory and local birds can be sighted by the barrage and many of the river channels. Numerous Himalayan peaks including the Makalu I (8,463 m), the fifth highest mountain in the world, can be seen during the clear time of the year. The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is accessible by air, land, and river. The journey by air is just a 45 minute flight to Biratnagar from Kathmandu, and then a mere one and half hours drive to the camp. Also rafting down for 8-10 days on the wild stretches of the Sun Koshi River is another exciting way to reach the destination. The third option would be the scenic drive through the meandering countryside road of about 500 km. That takes almost 10 hours from Kathmandu.
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve also makes an exciting alternative destination of visitors who have already visited Royal Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park.

Royal Chitwan National Park Tour (3 or 4 days)
Chitwan National Park (‘Chitwan’ means "in the heart of the jungle’) covers 932 sq. km in the flat lowland region of southern Nepal. It is one of the most important sub-tropical parks on the Indian subcontinent, with populations of more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of the endangered one- horned rhinoceros, tiger, and gharial crocodile, along with many other rare, and common species of wild animals. The estimated population of rhinos is 400. The park also secures populations of endangered species such as gaur, wild elephant, four horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Gangetic dolphin, monitor lizard, and python. Some of the other animals found in the park are sambar, chital, hog deer, barking deer, sloth deer, common leopard, ratel, palm civet, wild dog, langur, and rhesus monkeys. There are over 450 species of birds in the park. Among the endangered birds are the Bengal florican, giant hornbill, lesser florican, black stork, and white stork. A few of the common birds seen are peafowl, red jungle fowl, and different species of egrets, herons, kingfishers, flycatchers and woodpeckers. The best times for bird watching is in March and December. More than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles are found in the park, some of which are the marsh mugger crocodile, cobra, green pit viper and various species of frogs and tortoises. The park is actively engaged in the scientific study of several species of wild flora and fauna. The Chitwan region has had a long history of conservation. For many years it was the royal hunting grounds for the Kings and dignitaries of Nepal, and therefore was not hunted by the general public. It did however, become a favorite spot for big game safari hunters in the late nineteenth and early to mid-twentieth centuries. This was coupled with a surge in local human populations following the development of anti-malaria medicines in the mid-twentieth century. The long-term effect was a drastic decrease in jungle habitat and animal populations in the Chitwan valley as jungles were converted to farmland and big game were hunted and poached to dangerously low numbers. The falling rhino (less than 200) and tiger (less than 30) populations in the present park region, focused attention on the Chitwan region, and in 1963 the southern two-thirds of the park were declared a rhino sanctuary. With sanctuary status, they began the relocation of 22,000 people from the Chitwan valley and a moratorium on hunting. Since 1963 wildlife populations and ecosystems have been rebounding. In 1973, Chitwan became Nepal’s first National Park. The relatively pristine state of the modern park and its unique ecosystems prompted UNESCO to declare the park a World Heritage site in 1984.
Within the park lie the Churia hills, ox-bow lakes, and the flood plains of Rapti, Reu and Narayani Rivers. The Churia hills rise gradually towards the east from 150 m to over 800 m elevation. The lower, but more rugged Someshwor hills occupy most of the western portion of the park. The flood plains of Chitwan contain rich alluvial soils. The park boundaries have been delineated by the Narayani and Rapti Rivers in the north and west, and the Reu river and Someshwor hills in the south and south-west. It shares its eastern border with the Parsa Wildlife Reserve.
The park is influenced by a tropical monsoon climate with relatively high humidity. Winter, spring, and monsoon are the three main seasons. The cool winter season occurs from October to February. Spring begins in March and is soon followed summer that ends in early June. Summer days are typically hot with up to an average 30º C daytime temperature. The monsoon usually begins at the end of June and continues until September. The mean annual rainfall is about 21-50 cm, and during this time of the year rivers are flooded, and most of the roads are virtually impassable.
The Chitwan Valley is characterized by tropical to sub-tropical forest. Roughly 70% of park vegetative cover is sal (shorea robusta) forest, a moist, deciduous vegetation type of the Terai region. The remaining vegetation types include: grassland (20%), riverine forest (70%), and sal with chirpine (pinus roxburghii) (3%) forest, the latter occurring at the tops of the Churia range. The riverine forests consist mainly of khair, sissoo, and simal. The simal has a spiny bark when young and develops buttresses at the bottom in older stages. The grasslands form a diverse and complex community with over 50 species.

Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour
Chitwan National Park is situated in southwestern Nepal, and covers 932 square Kilometers. This is Nepal's first famous national park for wildlife safaris. You can see wild elephants, white footed gaur (the world's largest wild cattle), leopards, wild boar, sloth bears, and several species of deer, including the spotted, barking, samba, and hog deer. It is the home of the one-horned rhinoceros, and harbors one of the largest populations of the exclusive and rare Royal Bengal tigers. The swampy areas and numerous ox-bow lakes are perfect for marsh crocodiles. The park hosts 450 species of birds. The Tharu people, who are predominant in this area, have unique cultural traditions to observe as well. In Chitwan, there are many hotels inside and outside of the park; outside of the park is known as Sauraha. There are lodges available inside and outside of the jungle, which can be chosen as per visitor's budget and interest. Usually visitors spend 2 nights and 3 days, but it is also possible to stay shorter or longer if you desire.
Jungle Safari includes different activities such as:
Canoe Trip: You can enjoy a canoe trip on either the Rapti River or the Budhi Rapti River, which both border the National Park. You can see two types of crocodiles, the Gharial, and the Mugger, basking on the river bank.
Bird Watching: For the bird watchers, it is "Paradise Island," with over 450 species of exotic birds, domestic as well as migratory. Many are threatened, e.g. the Great Pied Hornbill, Bengal Florican, Peregrine Falcon, lesser adjutant storks, etc. A bird watching trip will be a memorable experience.
Jungle Drive: A tour by four wheel drive in the less distributed areas of the park to track the rarer species. You will visit Ox-bow Lake and a museum of historic interest relating to the park. However, during this period we will visit 20,000 areas which afford a varied experience of birds and mammals.
Nature Walk: Our experienced naturalists will accompany you to the more specialized habitats. This is the ideal opportunity to explore and experience at closer quarters and beauty of the flora and fauna. The authority of the naturalist must be closely observed to obviate any risks from wildlife attacks.
Elephant Breeding Centre: This is the first Elephant breeding centre in Asia. You can see baby elephants socializing with their parents and other babies. This centre is government owned and its purpose is to raise the young elephants, and to train them to convey tourist around the region.

The drummers and symbolic stick dancers perform traditional movements and invite guests to join them in this rhythmic display. Such cultural shows performed by Tharus will be an unforgettable experience. The Tharus in traditional colorful costumes, unique in their disparity with the common mode of dress all over Nepal, are sure to captivate you.
Elephant Ride Safari: On elephant-back, you can view the wild life of the area in their natural habitat.

Family adventure holiday in Nepal (12 Days)
This is a family adventure!
This trip has great value and a great way for you and your children to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of time to yourselves. Most adventure kids tend to be aged between 7 and 15, but some are younger (minimum age is usually 5) and some older (perhaps traveling as part of a larger family group.) The amazing things you'll be doing include exploring the temples, bazaars, foothills, and jungles of the breathtaking mountain kingdom of Nepal
Old Kathmandu and The Himalayas
Your adventure begins in the twisting alleyways, colorful bazaars and charismatic ‘Monkey Temple’ of Kathmandu. Flying to Pokhara, you’ll then get your first glimpse of the snow-capped peaks of the mighty Himalaya from your lakeside resort at Begnas. Porters will carry your luggage (perhaps the kids too, for a price!) as you walk into the foothills. During the trek you’ll gain a fascinating insight into the simple lives of the friendly Nepalese people. Parents and kids alike will love the contact with local villagers.
Jungle Safari, Elephants & Rhinos
Descending into the steamy jungle of Chitwan National Park, you’ll explore by dugout canoe – a great way to get close to the birds and animals of the park. One of the highlights of your stay will undoubtedly be an elephant-back safari in search of rhino and even tiger (if you’re really lucky!)
